Army defensive back Brandon Jackson died in a car accident early Sunday, the U.S. Military Academy announced Monday.
Jackson died in a single-car accident in Croton, N.Y., the academy said in a news release. He was 20 years old.
"We will honor his life as we mourn the untimely death of a young man who had a promising future as a leader in service to our Nation." said Lt. Gen. Robert L. Caslen Jr., superintendent of the academy. "Brandon internalized our watch words, Duty, Honor, Country."

Jackson played a big role in Army's success this season, which has the academy 2-0 for the first time since 1996.
