Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon often finds a way to sprinkle the word violent into his description of what he likes in players.
That was surely the case Thursday night when he and general manager Monti Ossenfort discussed the selection of defensive lineman Walter Nolen with the 16th selection in the first round of the draft.
However, there was another word that trumped violent on this day and that was disruptive. It was said by both Gannon and Ossenfort and also by The Athletic draft evaluator Dane Brugler, who wrote that Nolen has an “explosive first step with equally explosive hands” and added, “He flashes big-time disruption in his initial burst and fast, physical hands to regularly affect the backfield action.
