Turning over his two passports to federal agents, Alejandro Burzaco, a citizen of Argentina and Italy, pleaded not guilty Friday at an arraignment in United States District Court in Brooklyn to charges that he paid millions in bribes to world soccer officials to secure lucrative media and marketing contracts.
Mr. Burzaco, one of 14 top soccer officials and businessmen indicted in May on charges of widespread corruption within FIFA, global soccer’s governing body, was the second defendant to be extradited to the United States and the third to appear in federal court in connection with the case.
