Ferrari third driver Antonio Giovinazzi is to gain more valuable F1 mileage running Friday FP1 sessions for Haas.
The Italian, who has already completed two race weekends with Sauber – the other Ferrari customer team – has seven GP outings lined up, starting at Silverstone. He will also do Hungary, Italy, Mexico, Brazil and Abu Dhabi. At all events bar Mexico he will use Kevin Magnussen’s car, with Romain Grosjean handing his over just the once.
“In a year that’s already been filled with great opportunities, I’m proud to have another one with Haas,” said Giovinazzi. “Being the third driver with Scuderia Ferrari is obviously a great place to be, and getting seat time in these FP1 sessions with Haas will keep me sharp.
