Newly signed Colts cornerback Antonio Cromartie did not use money from his new contract to pay delinquent court-ordered child support in order to avoid possible jail time, a representative for Cromartie says, refuting a story by TMZ.com.
"My client's new contract did not save him from an arrest, and players do not get paid until the start of the (regular) season," Danika Berry said in an email to Omnisport that included a chronology of the situation.
