When Anthony Davis stepped away from football last year, he wanted to "let his brain and body heal." He decided Monday to leave the game for good.
The 49ers announced Monday that the offensive lineman "informed the team that he has retired from the National Football League."

After missing the 2015 season, Davis applied for reinstatement last spring and reported to 49ers training camp this summer.
