Angels sign 2017 second-round pick Griffin Canning

Another Angels top draft pick has been signed, sealed and delivered.

The team announced Friday they had come to terms with pitcher Griffin Canning. The Angels had announced the signing of No. 10 overall pick Jordon Adell signing just a day prior.

Taken in the second round with the No. 47 pick, Canning comes to the Angels from right up the road at UCLA. In his junior season, Canning made 17 starts for the Bruins going 7-4 with a 2.34 ERA and 140 strikeouts. Prior to his time at UCLA, he was a standout prep star at Santa Margarita High School.
