Last Sunday's race at Phoenix was the 11th straight Sprint Cup race to hit a multi-year low in ratings and viewership, and the 13th of the past 14 races, according to Sports Media Watch. Yet, NASCAR chairmain Brian France is happy with where things are in his sport, saying there's been a TV decline for other major sports due to the audience consuming the product differently.
"For big events, they go one way, they slide over digitally," France said in a press conference Sunday. "We’re no different from that. There’s no surprise on that. Attendance has been fine.
