SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — It was 3 p.m. Friday and the Triple Crown winner American Pharoah was taking a stroll near Barn 25, where he was stabled ahead of Saturday’s Travers Stakes at Saratoga Race Course. He stopped to pose for members of the news media and his adoring fans at each end of the wooden green barn, where security barricades had been set up since his arrival Wednesday.
“Look at him; oh my God, he’s so beautiful,” a woman who drove a Brook Ledge horse van said to her friend.
This was American Pharoah’s second and much quieter star turn of the day.
