The University of North Carolina baseball team will have a not-so secret weapon with them as they make their way toward the College World Series: Remington, the service dog.
The two-year-old golden retriever helps athletic trainer Terri Jo Rucinski by offering emotional support for players. His title is “psychiatric medical alert facility rehabilitation service dog.”
Remington understands more than 100 commands and also takes baseballs to the umpires before the start of games. He also is a welcome member of the Tar Heels’ dugout:
The Tar Heels begin their CWS run on Friday against Davidson in the Chapel Hill region.
