Gabby Douglas experienced first-hand how cruel and unrelenting certain factions of the internet can be during her up-and-down run through the Rio Olympics.
Fortunately, the 20-year-old gymnast also had a strong support system in U.S. captain Aly Raisman and her "Final Five" teammates, who helped Douglas through the lows with some sound advice.
"We all just tried to cheer her up, and I tried to tell her you can’t be on the internet and Google yourself," Raisman told E! News on Thursday. "I’m sure any person that’s ever done an interview, if you Google yourself you obviously see negative things about yourself, but we tried to tell her to stay positive and be there for her.
