Chances are Alabama will whip Arkansas State when the two teams play in Tuscaloosa in 2018. But a $1.7 million check should ease the Red Wolves' pain.
The Crimson Tide are paying the hefty sum for the Sept. 8 game, the Arkansas Democrat Gazette reported.

The price tag is a record payout for Arkansas State, slightly more than the $1.65 million Nebraska is handing Arkansas State to visit the Huskers in 2017.
"This one was really about being responsible for our budget, and this one gives us an opportunity to compete against one of the top brands in college football,” Arkansas State athletic director Terry Mohajir said about the two games.
