Alabama athletic director Bill Battle has completed a recent round of treatment for multiple myeloma and hopes to return to work soon on a limited basis, the university announced.
Diagnosed in April 2014, Battle, 74, underwent multiple rounds of treatment quietly before announcing his leave of absence June 21 for stem cell treatments in Atlanta.

The stem cell transplant was on June 27 at Emory University, and he was released from the hospital July 8.
Battle, who has been Alabama's AD since March 2013, was the football coach at Tennessee from 1970-76.
