After Defeat, Jets Share Blame, Which Is Plentiful

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Brandon Marshall sleeps eight hours every night — or tries to, anyway. He gets up a few times because of all the water he drinks, although on Sunday he had trouble getting back to bed for an altogether different reason.

In his mind, he was still replaying what he called “the worst play in N.F.L. history,” a reckless lateral that epitomized the Jets’ messy afternoon. Philadelphia recovered the ball and subsequently scored its third touchdown of the first half, the Eagles’ final points in a 24-17 victory that dealt the Jets their first loss.
