Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez is already serving a life sentence for the murder of Odin Lloyd, but his lawyers are attempting to get additional murder charges against their client dismissed.
According to the Associated Press (h/t MyFoxBoston.com), Hernandez's attorneys have requested that charges against the former University of Florida standout in the 2012 shooting deaths of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado outside of a Boston nightclub get dropped.
The lawyers have argued there is insufficient evidence to establish probable cause and that evidence was gathered from Hernandez's SUV based on statements made by a man who failed a lie-detector test, per the Associated Press (h/t MyFoxBoston.
