A Pair of Aarons, Judge and Hicks, Homer to Propel the Yankees Past the Mets

Back in March, when so little was known about the rebuilding Yankees, the primary competition taking place was in right field, where it was one Aaron versus another — Aaron Judge and Aaron Hicks.

Both were former first-round draft picks who possessed elite talent but also had enough shortcomings to prompt concern over whether they would ever flourish.

Five months later, the question is no longer which Aaron might be better, but rather, where would the Yankees be without both of them?

On Monday, they each produced a late home run — the first by Judge that tied the score in the sixth and the second by Hicks that untied it in the eighth — propelling the Yankees to a 4-2 victory over the Mets at Yankee Stadium in the first game of four between the teams this week.
