Portugal and Mexico were expected to be the two best teams in Group A of the Confederations Cup and when they squared off in their tournament opener, they looked the part. Both teams showed some real flashes of brilliance and, while there is room to improve, there was a lot to like about both teams. That Portugal scored late to go 2-1 up, only to have Mexico equalize at the death only made it better.
