The New England Patriots traded quarterback Joe Milton III to the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, and five teams were reportedly interested in acquiring the quarterback.
Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz noted that the Cowboys, Las Vegas Raiders, Philadelphia Eagles, New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers were all reportedly interested in obtaining Milton.
The Cowboys ended up acquiring the 2024 sixth-round draft pick, and he will now serve as the backup to quarterback Dak Prescott.
Per Schultz, the Patriots left money on the table by sending Milton to where he wanted to go out of respect for the player.
