Germany took an experimental squad to the Confederations Cup, but they still walked away with a 3-2 win over Australia in their tournament opener. While the scoreline was close, there was no doubt that Germany were the better team and now the world champions are level with Chile on three points atop Group B.

Jogi Loew's weakened squad is still plenty talented
Germany have an insane amount of depth. That's hardly a revelatory statement, but when you see them take a squad of almost entirely second choice players to a tournament and still outclass their opponents, it's awfully impressive.
