Lending credence to the speculation that Tom Brady and the San Francisco 49ers had mutual interest this offseason, Seth Wickersham of ESPN reported both sides considered a deal.
"Brady made it clear through various channels that the team of his childhood would be the team of his future, if the 49ers wanted," Wickersham wrote Sunday. "The 49ers discussed it, but in the end, the team was committed to Jimmy Garoppolo."
Brady ended up signing a deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency following 20 years with the New England Patriots.
