What do you make of the New Orleans Saints drafting Tyler Shough? On its face, it isn't that bad of a move. He clearly has a talented arm. They needed another quarterback with Derek Carr's future looking bleaker by the day. But taking the Louisville-by-way-of-Texas Tech-and-Oregon quarterback who's older than some established starters in the league is questionable, at least in Round 2.
Let's start with the obvious. The Saints drafted Shough where they did because they have high expectations for him. He isn't going to sit on the bench for long. If Carr doesn't play this season, as is possible, Shough will have every opportunity to win the starting job from Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener in training camp.
