The MLB trade deadline finally arrived Tuesday, and the result was a torrent of smaller deals but not as many blockbusters as we've seen in years past.
The New York Mets sold hard, sending away Max Scherzer, Justin Verlander, Tommy Pham and David Robertson, while many other teams around them in the standings — such as the San Diego Padres, Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Angels — stood pat or even bought to pursue a wild-card spot.
Most importantly, Shohei Ohtani stayed put.
