SPRINGFIELD, N.J. -- Thunderstorms arrived at 2:15 p.m. ET on Saturday afternoon at Baltusrol Golf Club and never relented, forcing a delay and then suspension of the third round before the final five groups were able to tee off at the 2016 PGA Championship.
Rain was always in the forecast for the weekend. After dodging disaster on Friday morning with only a 45-minute delay of the second round, the PGA was not as lucky on Saturday as only 37 of the 86 players to make the cut finishing their third round play before the delay began.
