After Los Angeles surprisingly traded up from No. 15 to get the top pick in the NFL Draft, it became pretty clear they were going to take a quarterback.

The team reportedly quickly settled in on Goff and made it official Thursday night by selecting the Cal quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
The other option was North Dakota State's Carson Wentz, but the Rams wanted a California face to lead the franchise, back in Los Angeles for the first time since 1994.
