Any fantasy owner with the No. 1 overall draft pick this season will not have an easy decision, as there is no clear consensus on which player is the safest choice, though based on average draft position, at least most drafters agree that the selection should be a running back.
Among the backs being considered, Jamaal Charles, Adrian Peterson, Eddie Lacy and Le’Veon Bell are the most popular options for the top pick, and while cases can be made for each one, there are reasons to be skeptical as well.
Charles was consistent for much of 2014, averaging over 18 standard fantasy points per game from Weeks 4-14.
