The first round of the 2025 NFL draft took place on Thursday night, and the Chicago Bears used their 10th overall selection to select tight end Colston Loveland out of Michigan. Loveland's selection brings in another receiving threat at the tight end position alongside Cole Kmet in new head coach Ben Johnson's offense which thrives in 12-man personnel.
Coming out of the first round, the biggest storyline is that Colorado quarterback Shadeur Sanders, one of the most polarizing players in this year's class, is still on the board. While there was plenty talk about quarterback needy teams in the New York Giants, New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, and Pittsburgh Steelers all being a possible destination for Sanders, none of them took him in the first round.
