TALLADEGA, Ala. -- Sixteen cars were involved in a wreck on Lap 47 of the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, forcing a red flag period that halted the race.
The incident began when Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne lost control of the No. 6 Ford through a turn as Paul Menard raced just behind him to his right and Kurt Busch did the same in the lower lane to his left. Neither Busch nor Menard touched Bayne, but Busch's No. 41 Chevrolet appeared to impede the aerodynamic handling of Bayne's race car, sending it around.
No drivers were injured.
