With his victory at Kansas Speedway, Martin Truex Jr. is at the top of the list among Monster Energy Series drivers who have earned playoff points so far this season.
Drivers have a chance to earn one playoff point with a stage win and five points with a race victory.
When the NASCAR playoffs kick off at Chicagoland Speedway in September, 16 drivers in the playoffs will each start with 2,000 points, plus their playoff points accrued throughout the regular season between stage wins, race victories and finishing in the top 10 in the regular-season standings.
Those playoff points will carry over until the final race at Homestead-Miami Speedway, when the final four drivers will compete for the championship in a winner-take-all season finale.
