It all began here last season.
Joey Logano and Matt Kenseth were racing hard for the lead in the Hollywood Casino 400. With five laps left, Kenseth – who really needed a win with his Chase hopes hurt the previous week at Charlotte – was spun out by Logano. Kenseth’s day ended when he was bumped by Logano, who went on to win the race. It was Logano’s second win in a row (he also won at Talladega) and set off a firestorm.
Two weeks later, at Martinsville, Kenseth got a measure of revenge when he spun out Logano.
