The Kentucky Derby is known as the most exciting two minutes in all of sports, and the race did not disappoint again this year.
Always Dreaming (9-2 odds) opened the race as one of the co-favorites, and pulled away from the pack on the final turn and held on down the stretch to take the victory. It's the fifth straight year in which the favorite has won the race.
Looking at Lee (33-1 odds) finished in second, while Battle of Midway (40-1 odds) came in third.
Always Dreaming will now try to become the second horse in three years to win the Triple Crown. 2015's Derby winner, American Pharoah, became the first Triple Crown winner in 37 years.
Always Dreaming will go for the second leg of the Triple Crown at the Preakness Stakes on Saturday, May 20st in Baltimore, MD.
