For the first time since 2017, the Toledo Rockets are going to the Mid-American Conference championship game.
Northern Illinois’ 24-21 victory over Western Michigan Wednesday night clinched the MAC West title for Toledo, which will play either Ohio or Buffalo at Ford Field Dec. 3. The Huskies scored the game-winning touchdown in the final minute.
This is UT’s 13th division title in the past 26 seasons and its seventh MAC championship game appearance. The Rockets defeated Akron 45-28 to win the 2017 MAC championship.
Toledo was picked to finish second in the division by the coaches and the media.
