How do you overcome a 21-point deficit?
“You want No. 7 on your side,” Toledo coach Jason Candle said.
No. 7 is quarterback Dequan Finn, the Rockets’ freakish quarterback who delivered one of the greatest single-game performances in UT history on Saturday afternoon at the Glass Bowl.
Not only were Finn’s statistics singular, but he took his teammates and figuratively strapped them to his back after Toledo trailed 21-0 barely five minutes into the game.
“DQ is definitely the leader. Whenever he’s up, we’re going to get up with him,” said wide receiver Mikel Barkley, who had two touchdown receptions in Saturday’s 52-31 win over Kent State.
