DEKALB, Ill. — The University of Toledo women’s basketball team used balanced scoring and an 11-point advantage in the third quarter to defeat Northern Illinois 74-61 in a Mid-American Conference game on Wednesday night.
Sophia Wiard had 16 points to lead the Rockets (22-4, 14-1 MAC), while Quinesha Lockett and Nan Garcia scored 14 each, and Khera Goss had 11 points.
Toledo led 37-33 at halftime, then outscored the Huskies 23-12 in the third quarter.
Jayden Marable led Northern Illinois (13-14, 6-9) with 19 points.
The Rockets shot 43.8 percent (28-for-64) from the field, 42.
