Why Ginny Boggess' success was always inevitable

If a ride-along with a pharmaceutical sales representative had gone better, Ginny Boggess wouldn’t be at Savage Arena on Monday night.

In 2013, the then 31-year-old had been a women’s college basketball assistant coach for a decade and was part of a Jacksonville University staff that was fired. Unemployed and at a career crossroads, Boggess considered pivoting to pharmaceutical sales.

Then she observed the job for a day and immediately began searching for her next coaching gig.

“[I disliked] all of it,” Boggess said. “I was like, this is basically like recruiting, but mine is so much cooler.
