DEKALB, Ill. — If UB Stadium is Toledo’s house of horror, Huskie Stadium isn’t far behind.
The Rockets are 2-5 in DeKalb since 2008, though they are riding a two-game win streak in the wind-swept plains and they’ve won the last two games in the series for the first time since 2016-17.
Jason Candle is the first UT coach since Tom Amstutz to have a winning record against Northern Illinois. His predecessor, Matt Campbell, was 0-5. Toledo doesn’t need to be reminded about the obstacle that awaits on Saturday.
“[Northern Illinois] is a massive challenge," Candle said.
