CLEVELAND — Toledo’s Tre’Shaun Fletcher suffered a knee injury 23 seconds into Friday’s MAC tournament semifinal against Eastern Michigan.
Head coach Tod Kowalczyk told the CBSSports.com broadcast at halftime that Fletcher would not return to the game.
The MAC player of the year scored on a layup on UT’s first possession to make it 2-0 and then crumpled to the court grabbing his left knee, the same knee that he injured late in the second half Thursday in a victory over Miami (Ohio). Fletcher was carried off the court by two teammates. He returned to the UT bench late in the first half, even standing on both legs to cheer.
