CLEVELAND — Ohio forward Antonio Campbell edged University of Toledo center Nathan Boothe for the 2015-16 Mid-American Conference player of the year award.
Campbell received 18 of 38 votes, while Boothe finished in second place with 16.
Boothe led the MAC in scoring with 19.3 points per game, finished third with 9.0 rebounds, and led all post players by a wide margin with 3.4 assists.
Campbell averaged 17.5 points (fourth), 10.0 rebounds (second), and 1.7 blocked shots (second). He also made 58.1 percent of his field goals, which ranked second in the MAC.
Western Michigan guard Thomas Wilder, who finished second to Boothe in scoring, earned two votes.
