As National Signing Day nears, a player verbally committed to the University of Toledo is unsure if he will play football for the Rockets — or play football at all.
James Jackson, a multisport star for Pittsburgh Allderdice High School, committed to play football at UT in 2015, but likely will have the option to play Division I college basketball if he so chooses.
Jackson, a 6-foot-2 quarterback/u200bdefensive back in high school, did not play football during the past season, his senior year. He has, however, starred in basketball for Allderdice, which is ranked No. 1 in Pennsylvania’s biggest class, AAAA.
