All week long, the University of Toledo defense undoubtedly heard about Western Michigan’s Jarvion Franklin and the powerful Broncos rushing attack. They saw Franklin break big runs on film and saw his name atop the Mid-American Conference rushing statistics.
For a run defense that was gashed in games against Tulsa, Miami (Fla.), and Ohio, a renewed focus on getting 11 men to the ball and eliminating what the Broncos offense does well, resulted in a dominant defensive showing.
