Ryan Rollins was recruited to be Toledo’s point guard of the future.
A funny thing happened during the 2020-21 season — the future became immediate.
Rollins didn’t supplant senior Marreon Jackson, but the freshman from Macomb, Mich., started all 27 games and became an integral part of the Mid-American Conference champions.
“His scoring ability is definitely different than most freshmen,” UT senior guard Spencer Littleson said. “He’s got a knack for finding the ball and attacking the rim. But one of the biggest things is, I think he’s a lot more mature than most freshmen, especially the way he plays.
