The University of Toledo has been named the winner of the 2015-16 Mid-American Conference Institutional Academic Achievement Award.
Toledo posted an overall athletic grade point average (GPA) of 3.235 for the 2015-16 academic year based on its 377 student-athletes across 16 sports.
This marks the second consecutive season and the fourth time in the last five seasons that the Toledo athletic program has earned this prestigious honor.
The honor is presented annually to the MAC institution that achieves the highest overall institutional GPA for student-athletes competing in institutionally sponsored sports for the academic year.
“Establishing the record for highest grade point average in school history and earning the MAC Institutional Academic Award is a wonderful achievement by our student-athletes,” said UT vice-president and athletic director Mike O’Brien.
