University of Toledo running backs coach Marquel Blackwell will leave the Rockets to accept the same position at West Virginia, Toledo confirmed today.
Blackwell spent two seasons at Toledo working with running backs Kareem Hunt, Terry Swanson, and Damion Jones-Moore, among others.
In 2017, Toledo was third in the Mid-American Conference in rushing at 204.0 yards per game. In 2016, Blackwell’s first season at Toledo, the Rockets were fourth in the conference in rushing at 195.0 yards per game.
Blackwell was a quarterback at the University of South Florida from 1999-2002 and threw for 9,108 career yards and 57 touchdowns and also added 1,235 rushing yards and 20 rushing touchdowns.
