The No. 3 seed University of Toledo women’s tennis team dropped its match 4-1 against second-seeded Northern Illinois in the semifinal match of the Mid-American Conference tournament Thursday at the UT varsity tennis courts.
NIU took the doubles point by winning two of the three matches, then won three of the singles matches to secure the win. The Huskies claimed the doubles point thanks to a tiebreaker in first doubles as Maria Dzemeshkevich and Nataly Ninova defeated UT’s Neha Guru and Jacklynka Scholten 7-6 (7-4).
Toledo did take home a win in the No. 1 singles match, as Audrey Moutama defeated Dzemeshkevich 7-5, 6-3.
