Three of the University of Toledo's top senior defensive players from this past Mid-American Conference championship season took the next step Monday afternoon in their quest to make a National Football League roster for 2023.
Desjuan Johnson, a first team All-MAC lineman, and all-conference second-teamers Dyontae Johnson (linebacker) and Jamal Hines (lineman) all participated in an NFL Pro Day held at UT's Fetterman Training Center along with four of their Rockets teammates, plus 15 other hopefuls from other colleges and universities from Ohio.
Although no performance times, measures, or ratings were made available by the group of scouts from NFL teams, the most high-profile UT trio all left the facility feeling like they had performed well and gave themselves a chance at future consideration in the 88th annual NFL draft April 27-29 in Kansas City, Mo.
