The University of Toledo is going to Detroit after all.
The Rockets, who missed out on their third consecutive Mid-American Conference championship game at Ford Field, will instead play in the GameAbove Sports Bowl on Dec. 26. An opponent will be announced later today.
The game will kick off at 2 p.m. and be televised on ESPN.
This is UT’s fifth bowl trip to Detroit, where the Rockets are 1-3. They defeated Cincinnati in the 2001 Motor City Bowl, lost to Boston College and Connecticut in the 2002 and 2004 Motor City Bowls, and lost to Florida International in the 2010 Little Caesar’s Pizza Bowl.
