The University of Toledo football team played in one of the grand cathedrals of college sports last week: Ohio Stadium.
The iconic Horseshoe, which dates to 1922, has played host to some of the greatest moments in college football history and is revered statewide, from Pioneer to Pomeroy, Conneaut to Cincinnati. No home — not even the governor’s mansion — is as majestic as the concrete edifice that sits on the banks of the Olentangy River.
But there is another college venue in Ohio that reeks of history, has been the site of multiple national championships, and is considered one of the finest settings in the world.
