Kyle Jones might soon become a Minnesota Twin.
The University of Toledo pitcher was selected in the seventh round (204th overall) by Minnesota on Monday in the 2022 MLB Draft. The right-hander was a first-team All-MAC selection last season after setting a UT record with 114 strikeouts. He has one season of eligibility if he doesn’t sign with the Twins.
Jones, who was invited to the MLB combine, was 7-3 with a 4.24 earned run average in 91.1 innings pitched. He ranked second in the MAC in strikeouts and innings pitched, fifth in ERA, and tied for sixth in opponents’ batting average (.
