There’s a common denominator in the University of Toledo’s three losses: turnovers.
The Rockets turned it over eight times against Western Kentucky, Buffalo, and Bowling Green, gift-wrapping 20 points to the opposition while disrupting the offensive game plan and flipping momentum.
“Any game that you watch at any level of football, that’s going to have a major impact,” Toledo coach Jason Candle said. “They’re valuable. You’ve got to take care of the ball. The ball is the program, and you’ve got to value that and you’ve got to do a good job of possessing it. Sometimes you end up a possession with a punt or a field goal, and that’s not always a bad thing.
