KALAMAZOO — The University of Toledo was undone by 22 turnovers in a 41-38 loss at Western Michigan on Wednesday.
Neither team shot better than 32 percent, as they combined for 67 missed shots and 39 turnovers. And there were only 17 steals.
Even the free-throw shooting was subpar — Toledo was 4 for 7 and Western was 9 for 14.
The loss drops the Rockets to 3-2 in the Mid-American Conference, while the Broncos improve to 4-1.
“We came up short against a very prepared Western Michigan team tonight,” Toledo coach Ginny Boggess said.
