The most successful tenure in University of Toledo women’s basketball history is likely coming to an end.
Head coach Tricia Cullop — the winningest coach in program history and a beloved figure in the community — is in talks to take over at the University of Miami. She would replace Katie Meier, who retired last month after 19 seasons and a program-record 365 wins with the Hurricanes. The deal is reportedly being finalized and is expected to be announced tomorrow.
Cullop guided Toledo to five Mid-American Conference championships, including the current stretch of three consecutive outright titles, two NCAA tournaments, and the 2011 WNIT championship.
